Waterford to put Jim Kennedy Cup on the Line
It is that time of year already when we look ahead to the
Jim Kennedy Cup. Now in its third year the competition remembers Jim Kennedy
who was the first national president of the association from 1974 to 1977. This
competition is a fitting tribute to the Tipperary man who played a major part
in the founding of the association.
As with other years it is open to the senior teams with both,
inter county and colleges.
The colleges will get first call on the all players with
inter countyâs usually with weakened teams. Most intercounty teams will use the
competition to run many of their bench and try out some new talent.
Cork were the first winners of the competition in 2011 with
a win over UL, while Waterford had a point win over Tipperary in last seasonâs
decider.
The closing date for entry is November 29th 2013
