The schools are alive with Ladies Football!!

The past ten days have been
extremely busy for the development team in Munster Ladies.

Last week teachers workshops took
place for the Knocknagree and Bansha primary schools in Cork and Tipperary
respectively. On Friday the Munster Development Officer had a great day in St
Marys Macroom delivering the Transition Programme (picture attached). From
there a trip to Croke Park on Saturday took place for the National Development
Officers day where 3 Munster counties were represented and contributed greatly
to a very informative day.

On Monday Bishopstown GAA club
was the venue for some fab Tea and sandwiches and a great 90 minutes of fun
with 16 teachers from primary schools in the area.  Sliver Springs Cork provided the venue on
Monday night for a club mentor rules workshop attended by 21 mentors from
around the county.

Raheen National school near
Glenflesk was the venue for the final teachers workshop of the week with 12
teachers from Raheen, Barraduff and Glenflesk National schools attending.

A well-deserved break next week
for all the schools and the Development officer but the following week it is
back to normality with more teachers workshops and Transition Year programmes
in Thurles and Newcastle West.

On Friday 14th the
Tipperary Ladies schools coaching initiative in association with Lit Tipperary
and Setanta College will be launched. This initiative will see 5 schools
receive coaching form students of LIT Tipperary as part of their work placement
for a period of 6 weeks. The development of Fundamentals movement skills
through the medium of Ladies football will provide the core theme in all
schools. More info to follow soon.

It is hoped the huge increase in
the number of TY programmes in 2013/2014 and the rollout of the Teachers
workshops to the primary schools will increase participation in and promotion
of Ladies Football at primary level. In addition these programmes offer support
to teachers who give of their time to coach and administer teams throughout the
year.
