Limerick LGFA hosted the finals of their very successful 1st year competition in the Manor Fields in Adare. The A final was contested by Scoil Pol Kilfinnane and John the Baptist of Hospital with a very skilful Scoil Pol team winning out . Scoil Pol had the better start with two early goals and some well taken points but midway through John the Baptist hit a purple patch of their own scoring two goals and some points ,further goals from Scoil Pol had them ahead at half time and an impressive second half ensured that Scoil Pol ran out impressive winners.
Barry O Hallron from Limerick LGFA presented the cup and complemented all eight schools that took part in the competition he said it was a much needed competition and that it was great to see so many girls out playing and enjoying football and he encouraged any girl who were not with a club to join their local club.
Barry thanked Munster LGFA who sponsored the two cups for the competition and also thanked Dan Cannon for organising the games.
Scoil Ide agus Iosef were the winners of the Limerick 1st year B competition with Castletroy College runner ups.
