Three Cork ladies footballers have been honoured in the past week with monthly sports awards.
All-Ireland player of the match winner BrÃd Stack received the prestigious Evening Echo Monthly Ladies Sportstar Award at the Rochestown Park Hotel for her role in Cork’s eighth All-Ireland final win against Monaghan earlier this month. The Liscarroll defender was among four players who played every minute in all of Cork’s All-Ireland final victories.
Also being honoured were multi All-Star-winning forward Valerie Mulcahy who received the North City & District Sports Award at the Ambassador Hotel, while Nollaig Cleary was the recipient of the Southside and District Sports Award at the Cork International Airport Hotel. The girls have racked up the awards since their All Ireland final and will be hopeful to add to these at the All Star Awards night on the 9th of November as all 3 are up for awards.
