Tipperary will bid to escape Division 3 again this season
having lost out in the semi-finals last year. Indeed the Tipperary championship
campaign was a lot stronger than some of their early showings in 2013 league.
Tipperary lost out to Cavan in the Intermediate final having earlier lost the
provincial decider to Waterford.
With the departure of Sean OâDonovan Tipperary are still
without a full time manager and this uncertainty will be a cause for some
concern. However a new manager will be in place as early as next week with a
big name promised.
It is encouraging that Tipperary have drawn group favourites
Longford and Armagh at home and will relish a local derby with Waterford but it
is the remaining Ulster and Connacht teams that they will need to collect
points against to get them into the final four. Like last season, it may take
them a play off to get there but it is a place that they can comfortably aspire
to.
Having had a slow start to the season last year Tipp will be anxious to get a first win away to Wexford on Feb 2nd
