Aherlow and Boherbee into Intermediate Final

A goal 10 minutes from time for Mungret set up a tense finished to this Intermediate club championship semi-final, as Aherlow who lead from the third minute had to withstand a late challenge to hang onto a slender point advantage at full time.

Aherlow took a 2-3 to 0-2 lead to the break but an early burst of scores for the Limerick side including five unanswered points had them back in the tie by the 48th minute 0-8 to 2-4 in deficit. It was not to be long and they would take the lead as a 50th minute goal put them ahead and with 5 minutes left they added a point to give the a two point lead. However, Aherlow who defeated Kerry champions in the Quarterfinal were able to find a late gear and tacked on three very important late points to see them to the final.

They now take on Cork champions Boherbee who had a facile victory St Annes of Waterford.
