A convincing win for Kerry in this round 4 clash played in Brosna on Sunday. The first half was a more evenly contested than the second with only five points separating the sides at the interval. Things were slow to get going as Erin Evans opened the scoring for Kerry with a brace of points. Ciara Murphy opened the Limerick sides account in the tenth minute. Captain Grace O’Sullivan added a brace of points as both sides tried to stamp their dominance early on. Emma Sommers responded for Limerick as Kerry began to get a further grip on proceedings. 1-02 from Amy Moriarty saw Kerry open up a seven-point lead with only seven minutes remaining in the half. A point from Limerick was followed by two Kerry points from Holly Ryan and Amy Moriarty saw them open up an eight-point lead. Limerick responded just before the interval with a goal to reduce the deficit. Upon resumption Kerry got their first score with a goal from Holly Ryan. Limerick responded with a penalty after
referee Chris Scanlon asked for the penalty to be retaken despite Grace O’Regan saving the initial effort. Kerry were much more in control in the second half and added a brace of points from Erin Evans. Limerick got their final score midway through the half from Ciara Murphy with a free. Kerry would close out the remaining quarter with 2-07. Michelle O’Connor and Grace O’Sullivan with the goals. Máire Eilís Nic Gearailt amongst the point scorers as Kerry ran out convincing and deserving winners against a young Limerick side
