Kerry got back to winning ways in the Sharon O’Keeffe Tournament after a hard-fought win in the third round. Played on an astro pitch they got off to a flying start scoring three unanswered points. Grace O’Sullivan, Erin Evans and Holly Burke all getting on the score sheet. Naoise Talty opened the Clare account with a point before a Clare goal had the sides level. An attempted point from Clare saw the ball hit the crossbar with Lucy Watson quickest to react and pam the ball into the back of the net. A brace from Erin Evans saw the Kingdom extend the lead back out to two as the sides exchanged points. A crucial period was to come for the Kingdom in the final seven minutes of the first half. Two goals one from Grace O’Sullivan and Holly Ryan saw Kingdom go in at the break with an eight-point advantage. With the second half underway Clare got off to the perfect start with a goal from Emma Kelly. It spurred Clare on as a further two points from Laura Morrissey and Lucy Watson saw the deficit down to three. Kerry’s first score in the half came midway through, courtesy of Grace O’Sullivan. Clare once again reduced the deficit to three and had a chance of a goal but Aime Kelly saved well. Kerry would see out the game strongly much like the first half. Points form Erin Evans, Máire Eilís Nic Gearailt and a goal from Grace O’Sullivan in injury time saw Kerry run out deserving ten-point winners.

Munster U16 A Championship Round 3
Clare 1-05 Kerry 9-18
Referee: David Grogan
The A game saw Kerry record an impressive win in a very much one-sided encounter. It was evident early on the outcome of this game as Kerry dominated the game from start to finish. Six goals by Kerry in the first half well and truly put this game beyond any doubt. Kelsey Cummins and Jessie Lynch amongst the scorers. Kerry had five different scorers of points in the half as they dominated the scoreboard on both fronts. Captain Leah Griffin, Lily Riordan, Avril Doyle and Seoladh Flynn amongst the scorers. Clare registered two points in the half through Ella Healy and Simone Considine. Things failed to improve for Clare in the second half as Kerry continued their dominance throughput the half. A further 3 -09 in the second half from the Kingdom afforded them the opportunity to give much needed gametime to the panel ahead of the remaining games in the championship. Despite Kerry’s dominance Clare to their immense credit and pride fought till the bitter end. Points from Ella Healy and Allisha Ryan and a consolation goal late on from Simone Considene was their reward for the never say die attitude showing by the banner on the day
