Presentation win Thurles Derby in Lidl Munster LGFA Junior B

Lidl Munster LGFA  PPS Junior B Final

 Presentation Thurles  4-07  Ursuline Thurles 2-07   on Tuesday 1st March at 2pm in North Campus 4G University of Limerick 

 Presentation got the upper hand in the all Thurles Lidl Munster Junior B championship.

Ursuline opened the scoring with a point from Grace Fitzpatrick Ryan who proved to be one of their most influential players over the hour.

They failed to convert some early chances and were made to pay by Grace Flanagan who converted two frees one over the bar but the second free was deflected into the net for a goal.Alice O Donoghue got a point for ursuline just before the water break.

A goal from Ciara Shelly pushed Pres further ahead but two pointed frees from Sarah Quinlan kept the scoreboard ticking over for Ursulines,

a point from Aoife Shelly saw Pres lead at the break2-03 to 0-04

  A penalty expertly converted by Sarah Bell closed the gap to a single goal but Presentation responded immediately with a goal from Olga Maher.Two pointed frees from Flanagan  Ursuline were finding it hard to contain the hard running Kate Ralph while a point and a well finished goal from Aoife Shelly pushed Pres into a commanding lead 4-07 to 1-04 lead at the final water break.

Ursuline refused to wilt and a goal from Fitzpatrick Ryan and points from Kate Carr and Caoimhe Stakelum closed the gap to two goals but they were finding it hard to get past the  blanked defence in which the full back line of Eve Ralph Caitlin Shelly and Blanathnaid Lloyd  excelled. Caoimhe Fitzgibbon was the outstanding defender for Ursuline.

Presentation now go on to play Glenamaddy CS from Galway in the Lidl All Ireland semi final in Birr on the 12th of March
