Munster LGFA PPS Junior C Final

 By Derek Dormer
ST.JOHN BOSCO CC 9-22
PRESENTATION MITCHELSTOWN 0-1

In the second part of the Munster LGFA PPS double played in the fabulous Clarecastle facility, Kildysart School St John Bosco ran out whopping forty-eight-point winners. Nine green flags and twenty two white flags tells its own story while barring a second half Isabelle Garry converted penalty all their other scores came from play in a tour de force display. One could only feel for Presentation, as they were second best throughout, but to their credit, they never dropped their heads or lost their discipline, which would have been easy considering what was taking place.
The tone was set inside the opening four minutes with centre forward Aoibhinn Keane and full forward Caoimhe McMahon both raising early green flags. By the end of the opening quarter, there were eighteen points separating the sides, with further majors from Aoibhinn Keane, Naoise Talty and Kayla Kennedy highlighting the gulf in class. Rona O’Connor did convert a free in the 20th minute to get Presentation Mitchelstown off the mark, but another Aoibhinn Keane major and further McMahon points saw the Clare school hold a twenty-seven-point interval lead on a 6-10 to 0-1 scoreline.

On the resumption of play the Banner representatives didn’t take their foot off the gas with wing forward Isabelle Garry coolly slotting home a penalty for the seventh green flag of the afternoon. Goals eight and nine duly followed, with the hugely impressive Aoibhinn Keane blasting home from close range while the equally impressive Isabelle Garry unleashed a rocket from twenty yards that billowed into the top corner of the net. The scoreboard was kept ticking over with quality points as St John Bosco Community College served notice that they have their eyes firmly fixed on All-Ireland glory.
