Moycarkey Borris booked their place in the semi-finals of the AIB Munster LGFA Intermediate Club Championship after a pulsating 4-8 to 1-14 victory over St Ailbes on Sunday afternoon. In a contest that ebbed and flowed from start to finish, the Tipperary side held off a strong second-half surge from their Limerick opponents to secure a three-point win.

However, Moycarkey Borris soon found their rhythm. Ciara Shelly and Emma O’Sullivan struck two quickfire goals within a minute of each other to turn the game on its head. Further points from Aoife Shelly, Sophie Coughlan, and Kate Ralphs extended their lead.
St Ailbes responded through Eimear Ryan, who converted three frees before half-time, but Moycarkey’s efficiency in front of goal gave them the edge at the interval.

Second Half: High Drama and Fine Finishing

Driven on by the tireless Eimear Ryan, who converted a penalty midway through the half, and sharp shooting from Laura Nash, Georgina Keane, and Niamh Ryan, St Ailbes gradually chipped away at the deficit.
Moycarkey had to dig deep defensively, with Maria Kinane shown a yellow card as the pressure mounted. Yet, crucial points from Ciara Shelly and Aoife Shelly steadied the ship in the closing stages.
Despite St Ailbes’ late rally, which included points from Ryan and Keane, Moycarkey Borris held firm to seal a famous three-point win.
