At 2026 LGFA Annual Congress, held at the Diamond Hotel in Enniscrone, Co. Sligo, over Friday evening and Saturday evening, it was also confirmed that Kildare will host Annual Congress in 2027.
2026 Annual Congress marked Helen O’Rourke’s final Congress as CEO of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association.
Speaking to delegates on Friday evening, O’Rourke said: “It’s been an amazing journey with wonderful people. There are changes coming down the road but for our sport, we know no matter what changes come, we are strong enough and we have the people strong enough to stand and know that our sport will always be to the fore and thrive.”
O’Rourke, who served as LGFA President from 1994-1997, took over the role of LGFA CEO in September 1997.
She will be succeeded by Lyn Savage, who officially takes over the role on Monday, March 9.
